Two-man operation is advisable when the starting point is unknown and the course of the service must be established. Conductive tracing – A one-man operation used without handle for tracing an individual conductor or for use when other conductors or interfering metal objects are nearby. This method may also be used to trace non-metallic pipes by connecting to a tracing wire or to a snake or fish tape fed into these services.
